It is with great joy that we welcome the children and youth of The Ethical Planet collaborating with our blog, together with Dr. Clarice Peres.
In response to the invitation of Dr. Clarice Peres of the University of California Los Angeles UCLA to co-author the articles for the Abayomi Academy Blog, addressing the Human Relations dimension, the children and youth of The Ethical Planet bring their contribution on ethics and human values to be observed from neuroscience.
The Ethical Planet is a project that started in 2012 in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil and in 2019 officially became a non-profit organization – Planeta Etica Inc. – in Florida, United States with a mission to change the world through the education of ethics and human values .
In 2012, in a vacation workshop that the children did at their grandmother’s house, the Brazilian educator Nívea Maria Fraga Rocha, they learned by playing on the themes of ethics and human values. With methodology appropriate to each age group and through playful activities, they researched the definitions of each theme, and translated the concept, explaining it in their own words. Then, they brought these concepts into their own lives, looking for examples where they recognized the application of values or when their absence caused unwanted situations. Thus was born the Ethical Planet. They have published 4 books, now in Portuguese and English and available in 14 countries.
Its authors are currently:
