Clarissa Gainey is an award-winning graphic designer and Assistant Professor of Graphic Design at Augusta University. Her research focuses on the reciprocity between human behavior and graphic design, how visual systems shape the way people think, navigate, and make meaning, and how human behavior, in turn, reshapes the way design evolves. Her work applies this lens to create efficient, story-driven design systems that distill complex ideas into their simplest visual form through brevity, symbolism, and reduced language.
