📢 Meet Our 2025 Blog Columnist: Taina Volcov
Since childhood, Taina Volcov imagined and sketched building layouts. At 11, her favorite pastime was daydreaming. She created scenes while talking to her friends on video calls—back in 1995. By age 12, she was already doodling floor plans and dreaming of becoming an architect.
At 17, she became the first in her family to attend university, breaking a cycle and paving the way for new opportunities. Architecture fascinated her, offering so many possibilities that she couldn’t choose just one. Thus, she fulfilled her childhood dream by becoming an architect and urban planner.
Since 2011, Taina has worked in the field of Diagnostic Engineering, focusing on the health of buildings. Her work led her to deeply study how the built environment influences people’s lives and well-being, ultimately shaping society as a whole.
Now, she shares her experience and knowledge in the Health & Well-being Column, writing in Portuguese to inspire reflections on how we can build healthier and happier cities. Together, we move forward on this journey toward a better future.
